WELCOME!

The Museum of Performance & Design -- formerly the San Francisco Performing Arts Library & Museum (SFPALM) -- is the first international arts institution devoted to the celebration of the performing arts and theatrical design.

Built upon the collection of SFPALM, the Museum is currently housed in the Veterans Building in San Francisco’s Civic Center. The Museum produces world-class exhibitions, lectures and presentations by and about leading artists; provides conservation and archival services to performing arts institutions; and offers youth education programs.

The mission of the Museum of Performance & Design is to educate people of all ages about the impact and value of the performing arts in their lives through exhibitions, programming, and research.  In addition the Museum collects, preserves, and makes accessible performance and design materials that reflect our diverse culture.

PLEASE NOTE!

Carol Channing fractured her hip late last week and has had to cancel her appearance at our two events this week.

We wish Ms. Channing a speedy recovery and apologize for any inconvenience.

Ticket holders for the Herbst Theatre concert will be contacted by CITY BOX OFFICE directly for refunds.

Our SONG AND DANCE event honoring Ms. Channing still will be held featuring Chita Rivera, Carole Cook, JoAnne Worley and other surprise guests.
